Fulfilling your potential: A breakthrough approach to mental wellbeing in the workplace

I am excited to present a remarkable opportunity to our organisation by introducing you to Susan Schmitt Winchester, the global SVP and CHRO of Applied Materials, a Fortune 150 company in the semi-conductor industry with over 35,000 global employees.

My connection with Susan started approximately four years ago, during what was initially a casual networking chat. I found ourselves engaged in a profound conversation about the personal and professional hurdles we have encountered. It became clear to me that certain childhood experiences leave enduring imprints on our adult lives, influencing both our personal journeys and career paths.

Through this conversation I learned that Susan was in the final stages of publishing her book, which included powerful life stories from her early years, her journey as an executive while overcoming personal challenges, and how she transformed these experiences into a valuable guide for dealing with conflicts in the workplace and within oneself.

I’ve personally invited Susan to speak with InX, and our network, on the important topic of: Fulfilling Your Potential: A Breakthrough Approach To Mental Wellbeing In The Workplace.

I believe Susan's presentation holds significant relevance for any company that places a strong emphasis on mental wellbeing in the workplace. I have high expectations that Susan's keynote address and book will play a pivotal role in elevating the practice of empathetic leadership. This, in turn, is poised to foster deeper collaboration, fortify internal relationships, and ultimately contribute to the cultivation of a more positive and vibrant corporate culture. Susan's insights and expertise promise to be a catalyst for positive change in the corporate world.

Further insights and key reasons to engage in this session…

Many adults struggle after a troubled upbringing as Susan references in her book as Adult Survivors of a Damaged Past (ASDP). These sometimes high-achieving people can develop habits and traits from their past that can be limiting to personal growth such as perfectionism, people pleasing & workplace bullying.

The modern workplace offers a chance to foster emotional safety, encourage teamwork, instil self-confidence, and inspire a positive outlook, ultimately benefiting employers by retaining and developing valuable talent within a healthy corporate culture.

  • Understand the costs of loneliness and emotional conflicts on business vitality, company cultures, as well as personal careers.

  • Identify opportunities leaders have to develop a culture that is a brave space for employees to discover healing from the past and bring their full gifts, potential, and professionalism to high-performing teams.

  • Explore ways that all employees can discover new levels of joy in their own professional lives and career fulfilment by creating a healing culture inside their company.

I am thrilled to bring this idea to life, as it's been a shared vision for quite some time. Our team have also met with Susan and are equally excited. All over the world billions of people go to work every day feeling anxious, defensive, isolated, braced for attack, overwhelmed, uncertain that they’re worthy as a result of traumatic experiences in the past or in childhood so we hope this keynote will allow you to understand that you’re not alone.

Ahead of the event I would encourage you to take a look at Susan’s book, co-authored with Martha I. Finney, Healing At Work: A Guide To Using Career Conflicts To Overcome Your Past And Build The Future You Deserve.

“Of the 100’s books I’ve read, Healing at Work is in the top 5 because it’s so so valuable, so important, critical, and so core” – Jack Canfield.
